My identity is first and foremost found in Jesus. I am a daughter of the King, the most high God, creator of the heavens and the earth. I am loved by Him, found in Him. If all things pass away, this will remain true until my last breath on earth.

I am also a wife to Lane since May of 2001 and mother to Lilly, William, and Djou (our son recently adopted from Haiti).

We live on five acres in a 140 year old brick house in Michigan with three outdoor mice-catching cats and a horse who is too handsome for his own good. We are always doing projects around here, including a bus that we are making into a “motorhome” for our upcoming camping adventures.

We thoroughly soak in the days of the summer months camping all along the western side of the state, never tiring of the vast beauty of Lake Michigan and it’s unending beaches and towering sand dunes.

I began homeschooling two years ago. It was an excruciatingly difficult decision, but so far I haven’t looked back. With a degree in education, I finally feel like I am using my enthusiasm in teaching to the fullest. Having my kids under my care all hours of the day has been the biggest challenge and blessing, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

So there you have it. We are your basic run-of-the-mill homeschooled adoptive family with a renovated bus-home, living life to the fullest, fully aware of the blessings God has granted us.
